This picture, taken at a beach area on the southern shore of Connecticut near Milford, is a symbolic reminder of the values of resilience, persistence, and having solid roots.

Bricks Make the Man

This picture is of a lego bricks version of famed American humourist Mark Twain, which greets visitors to his home and museum in West Hartford, Connecticutt. Sign of confusion

Sign of confusion

This is the sign on Uplands Drive south which is supposed to direct travelers to Ottawa International Airport. Note that in the upper right hand corner is the only airport related notation, representing about one-sixth of the overall space. Unless one catches sight of it and knows that ‘terminal’ means ‘main airport entrance’, it would be easy to miss. (I was witness to this folly recently.) It’s high time the city spent a little of its signage budget to correct this distracting, second-class, and deteriorating notice. Good thing this isn’t Canada’s capital – oh wait, it is!
